Robert Ian McNabb (born November 3rd, 1960) is a British singer-songwriter and musician from LIVERPOOL, England.

He is known both for his work as leader and songwriter-in-chief of The ICICLE WORKS in the 1980s, and his critically-acclaimed solo career from the early 1990's to date.

McNabb's first book, an autobiography entitled MERSEYBEAST, was released in October 2008.

... are an English (alternative) rock band formed in the early 1980s. Named after the 1960 short story "The Day the Icicle Works Closed" by science fiction author Frederik Pohl.

The Icicle Works joined Liverpool's early 1980's 'post-punk' wave, along with the likes of Echo and The Bunnymen and The Teardrop Explodes.

This is a FANSITE dedicated to the recorded output on IAN McNABB.

Most will recall his offerings when the had a hit both sides of the Atlantic with LOVE IS A WONDERFUL COLOUR whilst lead singer of THE ICICLE WORKS.

Since then, he has continued to record both with the ICIES and as a SOLO artist.

“The sweetest guy in rock’n’roll – a legend as far as I am concerned.” – Alan McGee

So far, I've concentrated on the DISCOGRAPHY Section, and hope to produce the most complete ICICLE WORKS | IAN McNABB combined discography within the InterWeb. Please feel free to browse - if it's UNDERLINED within the TITLE section, then I have created a page for that release, and included any PROMOTIONAL items I have within the individual pages (hope that makes sense).

If ANYONE wants any other type of page(s) ... to upload pictures, or keep details of LIVE gigs, then please use the CONTACT page in the first instance, and I'll be only too pleased to oblige ... THIS IS INTENDED to be a FANSITE RAN BY THE FANS, and hopefully containing what the FANS want.

Peace, Love and Understanding.
